A wide-span aircraft maintenance hangar with bi-fold hangar doors, overhead crane systems, and specialized structural design to accommodate large commercial aircraft. Features corrosion-resistant coatings for tropical environments.
The hangar needed a 75m clear span to accommodate wide-body aircraft (Boeing 777 class) with a minimum door opening of 70m x 25m. The structure had to meet aviation authority requirements including fire resistance, lightning protection, and blast resistance for fuel storage proximity.
We designed a space truss roof system achieving the 75m span with optimized steel usage. The bi-fold hangar door system was integrated into the primary structure with independent support frames. Lightning protection was built into the structural steel system, and all finishes meet aviation authority fire safety standards.
