Multi-Purpose Sports Arena
Project Overview
A versatile indoor sports arena with long-span roof trusses, spectator seating structures, and integrated lighting and ventilation systems. Suitable for basketball, volleyball, and community events.
The Challenge
The sports arena required a 45m clear span with no interior columns to provide unobstructed views for 3,000 spectators. The roof structure needed to support suspended lighting rigs, scoreboards, and HVAC ductwork while maintaining an architecturally appealing exposed structure.
Our Solution
We designed a long-span truss system with architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS) finish. The trusses were designed as a Pratt configuration optimized for the specific load combinations. Integrated connection points for lighting, audio, and HVAC equipment were built into the truss design.
